Canterbury MP Rosie Duffield and neighbouring MP for Herne Bay & Sandwich, Sir Roger Gale, have both urged the University of Kent to ditch its proposal for 2,000 houses in the Blean and instead back innovative plans for a Blean Biopark.
Ms Duffield has written to the University calling for them to prioritise this nature and heritage-enhancing vision – developed in partnership with Kent Wildlife Trust, Friends of the Crab and Winkle line and RSPB Kent – instead of a massive car-led housing development.
“I am writing to express my strong support for the proposed Blean Biopark in Canterbury, which I believe represents a visionary and much-needed initiative for our community and environment… I respectfully urge decision-makers and stakeholders to support this initiative and help bring the Blean Biopark to life.
Yours sincerely,
Rosie Duffield MP
Canterbury, Whitstable & the Villages”
